Israel’s ambassador to Mexico, Mr. Tzvi Tal, Lit the first flame of the menorah, subsequently speaking about his great appreciation for Chabad’s activities around the world, the Rebbe, and his Shluchim, noting that as part of his missions flying around the world he has encountered the amazing activities and devotion of the Rebbe’s Shluchim.
Rabbi Dudi Kaplan, the Rebbe’s Shliach to Cozumel Mexico spoke of the importance of unity and the ability the Islanders have to influence and bring Geulah to the world by using the opportunity to reach the over five million travelers that pass through Cozumel each year
At the event, there was a beautiful orchestra composed of 30 talented boys from Cozumel.
The city’s mayor, Renee Sanchez, also spoke at the event, praising the amazing activities that Chabad house does on the island in general, and in particular their campaign of distribute over 5,000 hot meals to those in need during the coronavirus pandemic, as well as the important role the Chabad plays with the growing tourism on the island.
Towards the end of the event, 105 pairs of shoes were distributed to children in need, donated by the Jewish Community of Cozumel.
Chabad house volunteers served over 3,000 free meals to the event’s participants.
