Lag B’omer community Hakhel celebrations were held in Toronto, where 3,000 attended in the north and 1500 in the south. At both events, smiling children had lots of fun, men put on Tefilin and everyone enjoyed a great BBQ.

Tuesday afternoon, thousands gathered outside the Swartz/Reisman Centre in the north of Toronto and thousands more came to a separate event at Earl Bales Park in the Centre of Toronto.

Participants of both events enjoyed a wonderful show. Child representatives of every Chabad House came up to recite the 12 Pesukim, followed by a marching parade with signs that the children received at Hebrew school and their Chabad house and prepared at home.

Inflatables, rides, a carnival, BBQ and food court, pony rides, carnival booths, concession machines, bonfire, game truck and more at both events, the Lag B’Omer spirit was felt in the air!

Many people had a great time by booths that the shluchim made for their communities.

The event in Northern Toronto was coordinated by:

    · Rabbi Mendel Zaltzman of the Jewish Russian Community Centre of Ontario (JRCC),
    · Rabbi Yisroel Landa and Rabbi Shimon Binshtok of Chabad Israeli Center
    · Rabbi Yonah Vilenken of Tzivos Hashem.

Organizers thanked the shluchim who partnered in this event:
    · Rabbi Moshe Spalter and Rabbi Zalman Grossbaum: Chabad of Southern Ontario,
    · Rabbi Mendel Bernstein and Rabbi Shlomo Voravich: Chabad Romano
    · Rabbi Avraham E. Plotkin and Rabbi Meir Gitlin: Chabad of Markham
    · Rabbi Avrohom Yusewitz: JRCC of Woodbridge

    · Rabbi Chaim Hildesheim: Chabad Russian Center of Thornhill Woods
    · Rabbi Mendel Kaplan: Chabad Flamingo
    · Rabbi Shmuli Nachlas and Rabbi Binyomen Wormflash : JYN.

This event was only passible because of the 110 Volunteers who registered and worked to make this event the great unity and success it was.

The event in Southern Toronto was coordinated by:

    · Rabbi Yisroel Zaltzman, Rabbi Shmuli Neft, Rabbi Levi Blau, Rabbi Levi Jacobson and Rabbi Mendel Zaltzman of the Jewish Russian Community Centre
Organizers thanked the shluchim who partnered in this event:
    · Rabbi Moshe Steiner: Chabad of Uptown
    · Rabbi Nechemia Deitch: Chabad Midtown
    · Rabbi Shmuli Nachlas: JYN
    · Rabbi Levi Ganzberg: Chabad Bayview
    · Rabbi Menachem Gansberg: Chabad on the avenue
And the 50 volunteers who registered and worked to make this event the great unity and success it was.

Avrohom, the 96-year-old who just had his bris, joined the parade and celebration! He of course uplifted and inspired the crowd (see video below).

May we merit that through these events of Achdus and Jewish Pride we go straight to the Geula with the coming of Moshiach right now!
