Approximately one month after the devastating fire that destroyed the main shul, large lobby and additional rooms at the Heichal Rabbeinu Hazaken guest complex in Haditch, the first group of nearly 100 Shluchim and close associates spent Shabbos Selichos at the site.
The first Selichos, recited at midnight on Motzoei Shabbos Kodesh, took place in the shul adjacent to the Ohel of the Alter Rebbe.
Among the Shluchim were Rabbi Shalom Gottlieb of Nikolaev, Rabbi Shlomo Salmon of Kremenchug, Rabbi Dov Axelrod of Cherkasy and Rabbi Yossi Alperowitz of Krivoy Rog, Ukraine. They thanked Rabbi Shneur-Zalman Deutsch, Shliach in Haditch and director of the Ohel complex, for the warm hospitality and followed closely the preparations for rebuilding the burned structure on a larger scale.
