An exciting and impressive Torah dedication was held on the eve of Shavuos in the synagogue of the town of Malachovka, in Russia’s Moscow region.
Malachovka was home to the Frierdiker Rebbe for about six weeks as he was preparing his exit from the Soviet Union, as well to many other chassidim over the decades.
The crowd was greeted virtually by Mr. Josh Nass, of Washington DC, himself a Russian-speaking Jew with ties to the region. Mr. Nass excitedly spoke those gathered live, as Rabbi Berel Lazar, Russia’s Chief Rabbi, wrote the last letter.
As per custom, after the last letters were written, the large audience performed hakafos with Simchat Torah melodies, performed by the town’s rabbi, Rabbi Moshe Tamarin. The Rabbi honored the many worshipers and guests from around the Moscow metro area with reciting psukim
The gabbaim expressed their appreciation to R. Avraham Kashayev for his dedication to putting together such a successful event.
