The massive flow of visitors to the Kosel has continued uninterrupted for 59 years since the liberation of Yerushalayim and the Kosel during the Six-Day War.

The peak of Yom Tov came on the morning of Shavuos, when more than 20,000 mispallelim filled the Kosel plaza for the traditional vasikin minyan.

The plaza echoed with heartfelt tefillah, singing, and the recitation of Akdamos in honor of Mattan Torah. Following davening, a large Kiddusha Rabba was held in cooperation with Colel Chabad, during which tens of thousands of individual Kiddush packages were distributed to Mispalelim.

Throughout the night of Shavuos, thousands streamed to the Kosel and nearby batei knesses for Torah learning, Tikkun Leil Shavuos, and the recitation of Tehillim. Among those participating were hundreds of university students who joined a special holiday learning program organized by the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

With the assistance of Israel’s Ministry of Jerusalem and Jewish Heritage, along with donors and chesed organizations, refreshment stations and hospitality tents were set up along the roads leading to the Kosel for the many olei regel.

Thousands also visited the nearby kever of Dovid Hamelech during the Yom Tov in connection with the yahrtzeit of King David, which falls on Shavuos.

The steady flow of Mispalelim continued through Shabbos and Isru Chag Shavuos, as tens of thousands participated in Friday night and Shabbos tefillos, along with the expanded Kiddusha Rabba held after davening at the Kosel plaza.

Officials noted that even after the conclusion of Yom Tov, the crowds continued arriving at the Kosel, with thousands expected to gather in singing and dancing in honor of Torah together with rabbonim, rebbes, and roshei yeshivah.
