What began as a small booklet aimed to strengthen the belief of Chassidim, in the weeks following Gimmel Tamuz, has grown to become Chabad’s premier magazine, and the only one with an English section.
The Beis Moshiach Magazine celebrated 20 years of existence with a Gala Dinner at the Eshel building, with the participation of the local Rabbonim, Mashpiim, and Shluchim.
The event began with a Sicha of the Rebbe, delivered by Rabbi Avraham Reinitz, assistant editor of Beis Moshiach, followed by words of blessing from the Mara Deasra and member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Yosef Yeshaya Braun, who discussed the importance of the Beis Moshiach magazine in providing pure Chassidic content, and ensuring the Chabad Chassidim worldwide have a weekly dose of inspiration.
Next to speak was Rabbi Shlomo Halperin, Mara Deasra and Rov of Chabad community in Tel Aviv, served as an editor during the first stages of the magazine, alongside his friends Yossi Soffer (from COLlive) and Rabbi Mendy Sudakevich (from Japan). He spoke about the goals the magazine set out in the beginning, the goal of presenting to Chassidim what was happening in 770, and to reinforce the belief that the coming of Moshiach is imminent, a goal which has been the focus of the magazine for the past 20 years.
Rabbi Shlomo Majesky, renowned speaker and dean of Machon Chana, who serves on the board of Beis Moshiach magazine, spoke about the importance of what is printed for Chassidim, and the care that has to be taken to ensure that all the content is appropriate.
Mara Deasra and member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Aharon Ya’akov Schwei, thanked the magazine and its editors, wishing them much success in all their endeavors until we merit the coming of Moshiach.
