The Mosiach Awarenss Project brought the Kagan Lecture Series to South Florida in celebration of the 19th day of Kislev, the Chassidic Rosh Hashanah, and Chanukah.
Rabbi Sholom Jacobson, who has given these lectures in several universities and Chabad Houses, arrived at Chabad of Deerfield Beach to a packed crowd of almost 100 members of the community for the evening services on 22 Kislev. He conducted services on Friday night and Shabbos morning services to over a 100 in what amounted to a non-stop Shabbaton.
Following in the tradition of Rabbi Yitzchack Meir Kagan, with whom he worked hand and hand on the celebrated “Torah Thought for the Week,” Rabbi Jacobson gave four talks and answered countless questions concerning the revelation of the Mosiach, giving extensive quotations from the works of the Rebbe.
As has been the case where Rabbi Jacobson has spoken previously, the crowd would not let him leave after Havdalah and spent additional time answering more questions and illuminating the Rebbe’s teachings of love for each and every Jew. The session only ended because it was necessary for Rabbi Jacobson to make the last flight out of Florida Shabbos evening and because, without making a vow, Rabbi Jacobson promised to return for additional Kagan lectures in the Spring.
