This past Shabbos, Parshas Va’eira, guests flocked to Chicago from far and wide for a historic event, a Shabbos filled with one thing only: Moshiach!
Starting on Friday night, Farbrengens with Rabbi Eli Dovid Hacohen Borenstein, Shliach of Bologna, Italy, Rabbi Zimroni Tzik, Shliach from Eretz Yisroel and R’ Avi Piamenta were held in three different locations across town. A stirring Farbrengen at the Moshiach Center of Chicago took place on Shabbos day, beginning immediately after Musaf, and concluding when the participants were forced to break to daven Mincha.
The highlight of the Shabbaton was the grand Melava Malka that took place on Motzoei Shabbos at the Star Kosher Catering Hall. Over 100 people, Anash and Mekuravim were in attendance, enjoying words of inspiration from Rabbi Borenstein, Rabbi Tzik and Rabbi Shalom Ber Kalmanson, Shliach to Southern Ohio. Rabbi Mendy Turen, Shliach of Springfield, Illinois was the emcee of the evening.
The Melava Malka also included a live performance by the Chassidic musician R’ Avi Piamenta, who brought the crowd to their feet with joyous singing and dancing.
The event was organized by Rabbi Klieman.
