The Rebbe’s advice to a mother whose son had difficulty with his studies in yeshiva:
תמצא (בהתייעצות עם הנהלת הישיבה בה לומד בנה שי’) בחור מת’ הישיבה שבעד תשלום כסף יקדיש מזמנו ללמוד עם בנה בתור חבר גדול קצת ממנו – שכן נוהגים בכו”כ ישיבות (ואין בזה כל בושה כלל).
השמות דבנה ואזכיר עה”צ.
Translation:
You should seek (in consultation with the administration of the yeshiva in which your son ‘שי studies) a bachur from among the yeshiva students who, for financial compensation will dedicate of his time to study with your son as a friend slightly older than himself. – This is practiced in many yeshivos (and no shame at all is involved).
Submit the names of your son and I will mention him in prayer at the Tziyun.
