There are only two weeks left to Lag B’omer, and the Parade spirit can already be felt in the Crown Heights air. Floats are being built, parade flyers are up, and the final Parade touches are being put into place.
One Parade favorite is yet to feature on the streets of Crown Heights: The Parade Clowns.
As of this afternoon, that is about to change. The dedicated group of Parade clowns will be joining Crown Heights shoppers in their pre-Shabbos Kingston Ave. run, bringing the early spirit of Lag B’omer into the Crown Heights air. They’ll be buying challah at Gombo’s, choosing fish at Raskin’s, and selecting wine at Eber’s—all dressed up in their clowning gear.
Parade organizers have announced a “Clown Selfie” competition. If you see a clown during your pre-Shabbos dash, take a selfie, post to Facebook and tag @thegreatparade, and you’ll go into a draw for a VIP seat at this year’s parade. Don’t have Facebook? Email your photos to [email protected], and you’ll be entered into the draw.
