OT Marks Pesach Sheini, With Fathers

Parents of the students in Oholei Torah’s 8th Grade Mechina program enjoyed a day immersed in davening and learning alongside their sons • Full Story, Pictures

In the spirit of Pesach Sheini and the idea that עס איז ניטא קיין פארפאלן, the fathers of students in the 8th grade Mechina Program were invited to spend the day with their sons. The day was spent learning, davening and bonding with each other and gave the fathers a unique glimpse into their son’s educational environment.

The day began with Shiurim in the classrooms followed by Chazara all together in the Zal.

Rabbi Dovid Kahanov, the parent of one of the Mechina talmidim then addressed everyone and encouraged them to internalize the message of Pesach Sheini and to always continue to keep moving forward no matter what setbacks they may encounter.

Avremi Werner, a student in the Mechina Program shared an interesting vort on Pirkei Avos.

Rabbi Wilhelm then proceeded to present awards to students who excel in learning, davening, shmiras hasedarim, Gemara Baal Peh and who put effort into learning the Maamarim Baal Peh.

They then took part in a special interactive program produced by Connection Point that featured a video of the Rebbe.

Following the presentation, the fathers and sons davened Mincha together and were treated to a delicious buffet lunch that included Matzah in honor Pesach Sheini!

The event was organized by Rabbi Yossi Bryski and Rabbi Mendy Hershkop with special thanks to Rabbi Borenstein, Rabbi Oster, Rabbi Wolwovsky, Rabbi Feldman and Rabbi Shur.
