The 12th of Nissan marks the second yahrzeit of HaBochur Hatomim Shlomo Aryeh Leib Jacobson, son of Betzalel, a”h, and Feige Jacobson.

Shloime was a talmid in Oholei Torah and was beloved by the Hanhola members and his classmates. Even in his later years, after a most tragic illness befell upon him, many of his classmates kept up a kesher and spent time with him.

To commemorate the Yahrzeit, a classroom was dedicated in Shloime’s memory in the newly opened Oholei Torah Mesivta building on Remsen Avenue. The age of the talmidim in the classroom would have been the same as the last year Shloime was in yeshiva.

In a most special and meaningful honor, Shlomo’s mother unveiled the plaque that carries her son’s name. Mrs. Jacsobson, a known ba’alas chessed in Crown Heights, was most devoted to her son his whole life, and more so after he became ill. She was moved by such a meaningful tribute to him.

During the Seudah, Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director of Oholei Torah spoke of the special day, 11 Nissan, and its connection with the Jacobsons. Afterwards Shloime’s mother spoke of the importance of bitochon, and the special qualities of her son. The Jacobson’s brothers spoke of Shloime and his time in yeshiva, and then each of their own special connection to Oholei Torah, and how much the yeshiva gave them, to each be successful in their lives, and living as chassidim.

The classroom was dedicated by Yerachmeal and Rivka Leah Jacobson, long time friends of Oholei Torah and supporters of many Crown Heights mosdos.

Rabbi Sholom Rosenfeld, Director of Oholei Torah and a personal friend of the Jacobsons, said how it is most befitting tribute, being the Jacobson family has been connected with Oholei Torah for many years, as talmdim, parents  and supporters.

After the success of the Building Campaign earlier this year, more dedications are being planned in the Mesivta Building in the coming months.
