You see them every day of the week – including Shabbos and Yom Tov, and at all times of the day and night, dashing out of their homes, businesses, and shuls to perform acts of chesed. They interrupt participation in joyous family Simchas and their davening on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, in order to save the life of another human being. In most cases not even knowing who that person is.

They are the dedicated volunteers of Hatzalah of Crown Heights. They respond immediately during the coldest days of the winter and the hottest days of the summer, during storms and blizzards, to desperate calls for help, for all types of medical emergencies.

Every year, Hatzalah of Crown Heights responds to thousands of pleas for help that run the gamut, from minor injuries to terrifying heart attacks and strokes, in which a quick response time can mean the difference between a chance at continued life or a devastating tragedy c”v.

They are always there for you, rain or shine; there’s no such thing as a day off, and they never ask for anything in return. Now they are asking the community to be there for them as they embark on a historic project that will benefit the Crown Heights community for decades to come.

Stay tuned. More details to come.
