Over the past few weeks Crown Heights Chaverim has received multiple calls from guests and residents who have been using the newly renovated Mobil Gas Station on the corner of Empire Blvd and New York Ave. (across from the police station)
Motorists are mistakenly putting Diesel in their cars instead of regular Gas because it is on the same pump station.
The way to differentiate between the Gas and Diesel pump is:
The Diesel pumps are GREEN, the regular gas pumps are BLACK.
Please take a minute to look at the photos above and below and familiarize yourself, your family and guests about this issue.
If someone does make this mistake, Do Not start your car!!! The car must be towed to a mechanic and the wrong fuel must be pumped out and the system cleaned.
Putting diesel in your car instead of gas can cost you a lot of money and unnecessary aggravation.
