In a letter to R’ Akiva Yosef HaCohen Friedman, dated the 24th of Elul 5717, the Rebbe writes:
I received your letter… in which you admit that your participation in Hafotzas HaMa’ayanos is small. I obviously wasn’t asking you just for a report, rather it was regarding your activities, to encourage you to participate in them, for since this is the order of the day, and that is what is demanded from us, it is obvious that you were given the full capability to achieve said demand, especially all those who study the works of the Chabad Rebbes which is how they receive extra strength and Chayus to perform Torah & Mitzvos in general, and specifically for the inner meaning of our days, to prepare the world for the coming of Moshiach. And it all depends solely on your will. I hope to hear good news in this matter.
