We are deeply saddened to report on the passing of Mrs. Ruth Averbuch, a longtime resident of Crown Heights. She passed away on Friday, Beis Iyar, 5784.
She was 89.
She is survived by her children, Rabbi Chaim Gershon Steinmetz of Southfield, Michigan; Dr. Chana Silberstein, Ithaca, New York; and Rabbi Avrohom Meir Binyomin Steinmetz of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
She is also survived by her siblings, Mrs. Batya Wagner, Toronto, Ontario; Mrs. Amina Newman of Long Beach, California; Mr. Joseph Daniel Schochet of Toronto, Ontario; Rabbi Elisha Shochet of Toronto, Ontario; Rabbi Ovadia Schochet in Miami, Florida; and Rabbi Ezra Schochet in Los Angeles, California.
The Levaya will pass by 770 today at 1:10 PM.
Shiva will be at 666 Crown Street in Crown Heights
