More than 100 students from across America and around the world took part in a special Torah learning program at Yeshivas Hadar Hatorah, held in conjunction with Chabad on Campus as part of Pegisha.

Organized by Velvel Fishman and JJ Hecht, the program was carefully prepared, with breakfast, refreshments and drinks provided. Bochurim from Hadar Hatorah and 770 arrived early to prepare and partner with the visiting students for a morning of Torah learning.

As students began arriving, the room quickly filled with the sound of lively Torah study. For many of the participants, it was their first time learning Gemara. Together with the Bochurim, they explored the Talmud’s discussion of Chanukah, discovering new dimensions of a Yom Tov they already knew.

The learning packet concluded with a summarized teaching from the Rebbe on the relevance of Chanukah to our daily lives, leaving the students engaged and inspired.

Although the program was scheduled to conclude at 1:00 p.m., students continued arriving and learning, with the gathering extending until approximately 3:00 p.m. More than 100 students stopped by throughout the program.

Hadar Hatorah hopes the initiative will become an annual tradition at Pegisha, giving students the opportunity to experience traditional text-based learning in a Yeshivah dedicated to Baalei Teshuvah. The experience reflects the very meaning of Pegisha: an encounter with Yiddishkeit.

The Yeshivah also hopes to welcome students back for its upcoming Winter Yeshivacation, scheduled for December 18–27, and plans to open its doors to participants attending the Kinus Hashluchim, CYP and CTeen Shabbatons.
