At the conclusion of his official visit to Eretz Yisroel, Argentina’s President Javier Milei visited the Kosel on Tuesday evening for a special time of tefillah. During his visit, the president offered prayers for the peace of Israel and Argentina and for the continued strengthening of the close ties between the two nations.
During the visit, Mordechai (Suli) Eliav, Director General of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, presented the president with ancient ash dating back to the Second Beis Hamikdash period, recently discovered at the base of a mikvah from that era. The president was visibly moved as he held the historic remnant.
Concluding the visit, President Milei remarked, “This visit to Israel at this time was very important to me. When friends are going through difficult times, that is when you come to support them. Just as the Maccabees were victorious in the past, so too the Jewish people will overcome their enemies today. The Jewish people are the people of G-D.”
