This year, hundreds of Jews came together to celebrate the Seder night in five different communities across Moldova, in an inspiring initiative led by Chabad Moldova. From the capital to the most remote towns, the spirit of Pesach reached every corner.

The organization of the Seders across the country was led with great dedication by Rabbi Shneur Zalman Tiefenbrun.

The central Seder took place in Chișinău, in a festive and elegant setting at the Radisson Blu Leogrand Hotel. Hundreds of participants gathered around beautifully prepared tables, recited the Haggadah together, sang, and relived the story of the Exodus in an atmosphere of unity and Jewish pride. The central Seder was led by Rabbi Shmuel Zalmanov. Words of blessing were shared by Mr Simcha Buzor, Mr Alexander Bilinkis, President of the Jewish Community of Moldova, Chief Rabbi Mendel Axelrod, and Rabbi Zushe Abelsky, Chairman of Chabad Moldova.

At the same time, a moving Seder was held in Bender (Transnistria), led by Rabbi Mendy Gotzel, with the devoted assistance of the yeshiva student Nochum Gotzel. In order to reach even the smaller communities, seven yeshiva students traveled to Moldova, bringing with them energy, warmth, and genuine care: in Rybnitsa – Yeshayahu Yosef Hakohen Katz and Shalom Halevi Fisher; in Cahul – Shneur Zalman Reices and Avraham Baruch Yunick; in Balti – Aharon Yakubovitz and Yosef Meir Zaitsev. Their presence transformed each Seder into a vibrant and uplifting experience.

In addition, as part of a large-scale Matzah Campaign, close to one thousand sets of hand-baked shmurah matzah, along with food packages for those in need, were distributed across the country—enabling many families to celebrate Pesach properly in their own homes.

Beyond the events themselves, this represents a powerful expression of a living and renewing Jewish community—strengthening Jewish identity and passing on the timeless story of Pesach to the next generation.
