A First on Governors Island: Large Menorah Erected to Spread the Light of Chanukah

For the first time ever, a large menorah now stands tall on Governors Island, bringing the light of Chanukah to thousands of visitors. The Menorah was erected by Rabbi Shmuel Butler and Mendel Gerlitzky, who took on the initiative to ensure that the Rebbe’s directive is fulfilled and spread the light of Chanukah to as many Jews as possible • Photos
