In the court case of Hey Teves, one of the charges made by the defendant was that Chabad was “inactive.” The charge was that Lubavitch finished with the Previous Rebbe. It seems that in the upper worlds, the charge was the same as stated in the Federal Court. Chabad was not doing enough. Chabad was “inactive.” • Full Story

Hey Teves (“Victory Is Ours”) is more than just about the books.

True, the Federal Court affirmed that the books stolen from the Rebbe’s library belong to Agudas Chasidei Chabad and must be returned.

The Federal Court also affirmed that the Rebbe is not an ordinary citizen but has the status of a king. He cannot be called to court. It is against the honor of a king.

The Court also affirmed the eternality of the Chabad Dynasty which didn’t end with the passing of the Previous Rebbe but continues in the person of our Rebbe.

How does all this add up to what some say is the Yud Tes Kislev of our time? Just like Yud Tes Kislev, Hey Teves marks a new era in spreading the wellsprings outward.

We understand now that what happened Yud Tes Kislev reflected an argument above: should Chabad Chassidus continue to be spread, resulting in the actual coming of Moshiach?

The liberation of the Alter Rebbe affirmed that Chabad Chassidus should be spread with ever increasing vigor.

Chabad was “inactive.”

From this we can take our cue how to really celebrate the victory of Hey Teves.
Yes, we should buy Jewish books. But let us show the heavens above (and ourselves) that we are active, and we are upping our commitment to fulfill the directives of our king, the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach.

Let each one of us refresh our learning of the Rebbe’s words about Moshiach and the final Redemption. Let’s take upon ourselves to do more in spreading the Rebbe’s teaching about Moshiach. Certainly, we should quote the Rebbe who referred to this era as the “days of Moshiach.”

In honor of Hey Teves, let’s take on at least one resolution to spread the wellsprings of the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach and accelerate the process of Redemption in which we find ourselves now. It could be through a farbrengen, a Shiur in Dvar Malchus, or even phone calls to friends to discuss matters of Geulah and Moshiach. The most important thing: Just do it.
