Dear Friends and fellow community members,
Tomorrow, Thursday (September 13th), is Primary day in NY State. In the greater Crown Heights area, there is a very tough race for our state senate seat (district 20) the current state senator Jesse Hamilton who is a true friend of our community and who’s staff is always very helpful is being attacked for not being ‘extreme leftist enough’ his opponent is openly embracing anti Frum elements and has ignored our community during this election season, pretending we don’t exist. This election is no joke, if the wrong people win we could be facing a New York State government that is
1) Anti-religious liberties (even worse than what we are already dealing with).
2) Anti Yeshivas (Yaffed will be treated like a large organization and be listened to).
3) Anti-Israel (NY State does billions of dollars in trade and investment with Israel).
Jesse’s opponent is part of the same ‘progressive’ network that is openly pushing for changes bad for us on all three of those issues.
Jesse Hamilton is endorsed by literally every Crown Heights leader representing every faction of our community. Our community depending on turnout can equal 20% of the vote which is enough to decide this race.
