The largest Chanukah event of Central America took place at the Beis Chabad in Cozumel, Mexico, when over 1000 people filled the central park located in front of the Beis Chabad on the island of Cozumel, Mexico sharing the light and joy of the Chanukah with thousands.
Rabbi Dodi Kaplin, the Rebbe’s Shliach and director of the Cozumel Chabad, spoke of the importance of unity and the necessity of finding the connecting line between the people of the island, and that the people of the island have the ability to bring the Geulah to the world, because over 5 million travelers come to Cozumel a year, and the people of the island can illuminate and influence all the world..
An orchestra of 20 talented boys from Cozumel played at the event.
The representative of the Jewish community Mr. Daniel Berengfeld spoke at the event and praised the activities of the Chabad on the island in general, and in particular the operation of distributing 5,000 hot meals to the needy during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Towards the end of the event, 70 pairs of shoes were distributed to needy children, which were donated by the Jews of the community in Cozumel.
Donors of the Chabad house and the Shluchim served over 700 meals free of charge to all the participants of the event.
