The Palestinian terrorist suspected of opening fire and murdering 18-year-old Border Policewoman Sgt. Noa Lazar and seriously injuring another guard was eliminated Wednesday evening after opening fire at security guards near Maale Adumim east of Jerusalem.

Police officials confirmed that Udai Tamimi, the terrorist who allegedly Lazar and seriously injured a civilian guard on October 8 at a checkpoint near the Shuafat refugee camp, was the terrorist killed in Wednesday’s attack. Security forces had conducted a huge manhunt for the terrorist but local East Jerusalem Arabs apparently helped him remain at large until the second attack. Police arrested eight people Tuesday on suspicion of assisting the fugitive terrorist.

A security guard, 24, was taken by the Magen David Adom ambulance service to the Shaare Zedek hospital in Jerusalem, with an injury in his hand. He was listed in light condition, the hospital said.

Prime Minister Lapid congratulated security forces for eliminating the terrorist, stating that “We will not rest until we lay our hands on every terrorist who harms Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. We will act with an iron hand and without hesitation against terrorism.”
