The chances that U.S. President Donald Trump will in the end join a big 250-member delegation to the opening of the embassy in Yerushalayim appeared to improve on Sunday, according to Israeli media reports.

And Jonathan Pollard might come with him!

According to reports, Mr. Trump has been considering allowing Pollard to travel abroad and return to Israel.

Pollard, 63, who was released on November 2015 after serving 30 years in federal prison on espionage charges, cannot leave the U.S. under his current parole terms.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz (Likud) urged President Trump to allow Pollard to come to Israel.

Katz said that Pollard’s return to Israel would “make the celebration” of the country’s 70th Independence Day and the relocation of the US embassy to Yerushalayim “even happier.”

“I would like to ask our great friend President Trump, to give the Israeli public one more present, and to allow Jonathan Pollard to come to Israel, and celebrate with us in Jerusalem,” Katz said at a Jerusalem Post-sponsored conference.
