Minutes after Havdala concluded, Anash and Chassidim walked out of 770 and a team of professional designers entered the Shul to decorate it in honor of the world’s most important convention, the International Conference of Chabad Emissaries from around the world.
8:30pm, lines stretched out in front of 770, with over 1,000 Shluchim passing through security and entering the Shul for the Gala Banquet. After everyone settled down, the MC Rabbi Yosef Carlebach, Chabad Shliach to Central and Southern New Jersey for 40 years takes the podium and welcomes the Shluchim to the Gala Banquet.
After recital of the Rebbe’s Kapittel by Rabbi Yosef Torenheim, Chabad Shliach to Trumbull, Connecticut, the Mara De’asra and member of the Crown Heights Beis Din, Rabbi Aharon Ya’akov Schwei gives over the message of the Crown Heights Beis Din, reminding the Shluchim of their important Shlichus in preparing the world for Moshiach.
The keynote address in Hebrew was delivered by the tireless Shliach, Rabbi Dudi Caplin, Chabad Shliach to Cozumel, Mexico and founder of six Chabad Houses for Israeli Tourists in Central America.
The keynote address in English was delivered by Rabbi Yehoshua Hecht, Chabad Shliach to Norwalk, Connecticut.
Other speakers included: Rabbi Yitzchak Kogan, director of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Russia, and Chabad Shliach to Moscow; Rabbi Naftali Estulin, Chabad Shliach to the Russian Jewish Community in Los Angeles, California; Rabbi Levi Liberow, Chabad Shliach in Flatbush and Rabbi Shraga Crombey, Chabad Shliach in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
