This project was possible due to generous OYYL supporters and ambitious and tireless efforts of OYYL administration and School Community to make School tuition affordable for all despite good teacher/student ratio throughout all OYYL grades.

OYYL serves as a model Chabad School Community in Crown Heights with many programs for children and adults ranging from skill based integrated curriculum for preschool and elementary boys and girls, “Ayol” Summer Camp, “Chassidic Expressions” Art and Music School, “Ayol” Teachers Institute, and parenting consultations and workshops.

The curriculum follows the Rebbe’s unique vision of what a Pure Chassidic Education entails; it is al taharas hakodesh both in terms of the subjects studied, and also how they are studied, using effective lessons and teaching methods that are firmly rooted in Torah. OYYL beliefs is that everything is in Torah, so, while we look at academic studies that measure the effectiveness of different education models, we only incorporate principles and practices that can be authenticated from a Torah perspective. This approach has proven to be successful, not only at OYYL, but also on a much larger scale. Finland’s education system ranked near the lowest in the world before they undertook major reforms and rose to the top using techniques that are very much aligned with some of the Torah-based methodologies that are implemented at OYYL.

OYYL’s mission to provide an authentic Lubavitch education within an environment that fully embodies the values and principles of Chabad Chassidus. To raise students that have the spiritual, academic and social tools to experience a deep-seated spiritual awareness, be in touch with their inner selves, develop healthy relationships, and are motivated to fulfill the purpose of Hashem’s creation. To cultivate a school environment where every student is perceived and treated as an individual, nurturing his/her unique talents and persona to achieve his/her potential in the service of Hashem. To bring the best educational methods to our children, and to educate students on their individual level so they can each grow at their own pace and mature into healthy, happy, committed Jews and Chassidim. To serve as a model for ideal Jewish education and an inspirational school community.
