    An evening marking the second yartzeit of Mrs. Gitta Gansburg, OB”M, will take place on Tuesday, Vov Kislev/December 6. The event, beginning at 8 p.m. will be held at Mrs. Gansburg’s home for 38 years, the dormitory at 1367 President Street.

    During one of the Rebbe’s visits to the dormitory on the first night of Pesach, the Rebbe told Mrs. Gansburg, “Thank you for raising my daughters.”

    In communities around the world, dorm alumni are also remembering this remarkable woman by making gatherings on or around her yartzeit. A video message about Mrs. Gansburg specially prepared by Rabbi Shloma Majeski, principal of Machon L’Yahadus, is being played at the international events.     At the Crown Heights event, which will be live streamed and also can be heard via telephone conferencing, there will be a reception with refreshments at 8:00 p.m. The program will begin at 8:30 p.m. Speakers include Rabbi Shloma Majeski; Mrs. Sara Lieberman, Mrs. Gansburg’s niece; Mrs. Raizel Nissim, shlucha in Greenpoint and dorm madricha under Mrs. Gansburg; Mrs. Dalia Sanoff, shlucha at Vassar College and dorm student under Mrs. Gansburg.

    A dollar of the Rebbe will be raffled at the Yartzeit Gathering to raise money for dorm expenses. Tickets will be sold at the event and people watching via live stream or listening by telephone will be able to participate in the raffle as well.
