Beyond The Tide: The Movie Depicting Work Necessary Today
Bnos Rabbeinu Girls’ High School of Chicago once again produced an amazing movie for their annual production. For three years Bnos Rabbeinu has produced movies whose messages of inspiration can be spread to a broad audience for maximum impact • Full Article
This year’s production, ‘Beyond the Tide,’ was an incredible success. With the Rebbe’s brachos, there was a packed turnout. Before the show, as an expression of complete bitachon, the maintenance man was asked to put out more seats. He replied, “Why? You won’t be able to fill these seats! Who do you think is coming?” Baruch Hashem, the people came and came until every seat was filled!
The audience’s response to the theme of the movie was amazing. ‘Beyond the Tide’ explores the theme of courageously doing the right thing, despite the world’s opposing stance.
This message struck a deep and passionate chord in many in the audience. One woman shared that throughout the whole film, she thought about her Bubbe and Zeide who kept Shabbos in America, despite all the challenges and pressures. Another woman said that every mother and daughter should watch this film and then discuss it together. A teacher said this is exactly the message girls today need to hear. A baalas teshuva said she was so happy to see that a frum movie would frankly touch on relevant issues affecting today’s frum communities.
Mrs. Turen, Bnos Rabbeinu’s principal, said “We are very grateful to the Rebbe for his constant flow of Brachos. The professionalism, the power of the message, the tremendous audience – everything we asked for was given to us. We are also extremely proud of our students for their efforts and talents in creating this wonderful movie.”
