I am a teacher in a Chabad Cheder and I am in charge of the daily Shacharis minyan. I am challenged as to what is the best Chinuch approach to employ towards talmidim that come late to davening. Should I tell them, as the Shulchan Aruch says, to skip parts of davening so that they can daven Shmoneh Esreh with the minyan, or should I encourage them to daven the full davening? • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
I am a teacher at a girls high school. Every so often, a girl will ask a really silly question (not even intending to be chutzpadik) and it really puts a damper on the entire atmosphere of the class. I was considering cutting down on the time allotted for questions and focus on just extending the lesson. Did the Rebbe ever write about this? • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
When I was a bochur, I never came home on Shabbos Mevarchim and would spend the day in shul saying the entire Tehillim. I continued this custom after my wedding as well. Recently, some people have told me that this is not the right Chinuch approach as my kids are left without a father on Shabbos afternoon. I was wondering if the Rebbe ever addressed this particular Chinuch issue • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
Question: I am a parent of a teenage boy. He is very sweet, obedient and kind, yet there is one area of concern: I feel that he is lacking self-confidence. Did the Rebbe ever address ways of building self-confidence? • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
Question: Dear Rabbi Avtzon! You have explained the Rebbe’s approach to many different Chinuch-related questions and challenges. I have a more basic and fundamental question: Is the responsibility of parents to educate their children a mi’dOraisa and mi’dRabanan? • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
I am a 770 Bochur that goes on the “Released Time” program and see first-hand the issues with public school education. I was wondering if the Rebbe ever openly wrote about the issues of public-school education • Rabbi Gershon Avtzon answers in this week’s Chinuch and Moshiach column • Full Article
