The administration of United Lubavitch Yeshiva has all but finalized an agreement with Iggud Talmidei Hakvutza to sell the iconic dormitory on 749 Eastern Parkway.

The sale is set to be finalized with the approval of New York State’s Attorney General in the near future.

The Iggud was founded in recent years by local businessmen who aimed to improve the conditions for bochurim spending a year learning by the Rebbe MH”M for kvutzah. Since their inception, the organization has set up housing around Crown Heights for hundreds of bochurim.

749 noticeably fell into disrepair over the years, with bochurim taking upon themselves the costs for maintenance and repairs.

The Iggud will be paying $3 million for the property, as well as the same amount in legal fees to settle various disputes and violations.

The building will soon undergo much needed repairs, for which the Iggud plans on initiating a crowd funding campaign.
