In honor of the 60th yahrzeit of Rebbetzin Chana, the Rebbe’s mother, Mr. Ofir Akunis, the Israeli Consul General in New York, made a special visit to Beis Chayeinu–770, at the invitation of Shliach Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Neuman.
Speaking about his visit, Mr. Akunis said, “We had uplifting hours in the Rebbe’s house and in 770, one of the most important places of the Jewish people. The Rebbe’s influence is evident today in millions around the world. His wisdom, his kindness, and his ardent belief in the unity of Israel, the love of Israel, and the completeness of Eretz Yisroel”.
The general tour of 770 and the broadcast room was conducted by Rabbi Mendel Eisenbach, director of the Chabad House at 770. The consul general also took the opportunity to say a Tashlich in the courtyard of 770.
In Gan Eden Hatachton, Rabbi Kuti Feldman explained how Chassidim prepared for Yechidus with the Rebbe MH”M.
Rabbi Shalom Ber Levin, the chief librarian, gave a comprehensive overview of the Rebbe’s library. The consul general was deeply impressed by the exhibits related to the Chabad Rabbeim and in particular the Rebbe’s personal collection.
