MK Simcha Rothman who serves as the chairman of the Knesset’s Constitution Committee concluded his visit with his wife Chana to New York with a visit to 770 – Beis Chayeinu.
He was joined by his friend and Chabad Askan Rabbi Dovid Nachshon, the director of the Mitzvah Tanks and Tzivos Hashem in Israel for a tour.
They were moved by the fascinating stories Rabbi Nachshon told of activities and programs in 770 and Chabad at larrge
The visit took place following an attack by a left wing protester in NYC. He spoke with the 770 bochurim, who encouraged him following the attack.
After that they received an overview of770 by from Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam from there they continued to the small Zal and received an explanation from Rabbi Nachshon about the status of Kabalas Hanesius that took place there in 5711.
Upon entering the Rebbe’s library MK Rotman was surprised to meet Labor Minister Yoav Ben Zur, who also visited 770, the visit to the library was accompanied by the librarian Rabbi Shalom Ber Levin .
MK Rothman and his wife were moved by the sight of the bochurim learning who sit and study diligently and persistently.
He concluded his visit by saying “We are all Shluchim and I will try to do my mission in the Knesset.”
