On the 5th of Teves in 1987, a momentous event occurred within the Chabad community: Agudas Chasidei Chabad was declared victorious in the legal battle over the ownership of Chabad’s treasured library.
This victory was met with great celebration and jubilation among the Chassidim, who saw it not only as a legal triumph, but also as a spiritual victory.
From the very beginning, the dispute over the library had been seen by many that this was not merely a legal challenge, but also as a spiritual struggle over the soul of the movement, and over the very definition of what a Rebbe is.
The significance of this victory was not lost on the Chassidim who gathered at 770 Easton Parkway on Wednesday morning to participate in the Rebbe’s Minyan in honor of the auspicious day of Hei Taves.
The atmosphere was lively and charged with excitement as people came together to celebrate this special occasion in Beis Chayeinu. As the Minyan got underway, the energy in the room was palpable, with people davening with great enthusiasm and devotion. It was a truly felt as a special day for us Chasidim, and one that will surely be remembered for years to come.
