Due to the terrible atrocities perpetrated against our brethren in Israel, I will please G-d be joining a solidarity mission of Chabad Rabbis from across the U.S. to Israel next week.

In coordination with Chabad in Israel, we will visit soldiers, the wounded recovering in hospitals, broken families who have lost their homes, families in mourning or awaiting the fate of their love ones in captivity, and government officials.

Our goal is to inspire, uplift and send a message of hope that we in the Diaspora stand with our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land!

I hope to bring even a small measure of comfort and Chizuk (encouragement) by showing them that the Chabad Lubavitch of Southwest Florida community stands with, and cares tremendously about them!

We need to unite! We have all been praying to G-d, doing Mitzvot and whatever else we can to help Israel.

Everyone has their role to fulfill in helping. Let us do what we can − even in some small  measure − to alleviate some of the suffering. Let us show our solidarity with the people of Israel by taking on an extra Mitzvah and by donating to help the wounded and families who have lost loved ones at our own Israel Emergency Relief Fund: Chabadswf.org/Israelfund

While in Israel, I will personally distribute these funds to families in need and to programs that help soldiers and victims of terror. Chabad has a robust system that reaches to every community in Israel. We want to distribute as much funding as possible to help those in need in this desperate time.

Our Maimonides Hebrew Day School students will also take part in this mission by preparing uplifting cards, letters, and artwork to be distributed during our visit. You’re welcome to participate as well.

May we very soon see the fulfillment of the prophecy that a time will come when “One nation will not lift a sword against another nation, and they will beat their swords into plowshares” − with the speedy arrival of Moshiach, Amen!
