Young Shluchim Share Mivtzoim Tips
Rabbi Efraim & Sarah Mina Setton from Chabad of Woodmere, wanted to make it possible for fellow Jews to shake lulav and esrog. They reached an astounding total of 300 shakes! • Full Story, Photos, Video
Rabbi Efraim & Sarah Mina Setton from Chabad of Woodmere, wanted to make it possible for fellow Jews to shake lulav and esrog. Therefore they arranged for their children and bochurim to walk the streets, setup mivtzoim booths at central locations, and to do house visits.
They reached an astounding total of 300 shakes!
Through experience, those on mivtzaim realized that it was very helpful to tell people who seemed to be in a rush, that it would only take three seconds of their time. Often they were so enthralled they continued to happily chat for a couple minutes.
They also realized asking people, “Did you do lulav and esrog yet?” might make people feel uncomfortable. Therefor it would be more appropriate to say, “Would you like to shake lulav and esrog?”
Sometimes it was even frum yidden, like busy mothers that didn’t yet shake lulav and esrog.
People were thankful and happy to be granted this opportunity!
