Yeshivas Kayitz Panama 5781, the summer program of Beis Menachem Youth Development Center, started off on a high note early last week.
Following an overnight stopover in Panama City, the program’s 17 bochurim and shluchim arrived to the town of Boquete.
The bochurim hit the ground running on their first day, visiting a local chocolate factory. Using local cacao, bochurim learned hands on how chocolate is made from scratch, tasting samples of kosher chocolate prepared on site.
The boys spent the rest of the week hiking through various terrains, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, and more.
Between their trips, the bochurim learn and daven with great chayus and camaraderie.
Before Shabbos, the bochurim got a chance to do Mivtzoim with localJews, even chancing upon Yidden that just recently moved to town.
The bochurim spent Shabbos with local Jews and backpackers. The boys were up early for Shabbos Mevorchim Tehillim, and enjoyed a delicious pizza melave malka.
Bocas del Toro, a well known Panamian beach town, is the next stop for the bochurim. Stay tuned for further updates.
