Yahrtzeit of the Rebbe’s Uncle Marked With Mishnayos

Today, 7 Shevat, is the Yahrzeit of Rabbi Shlomo Shalom Schneerson, the brother of Reb Levi Yitzchak Schneerson, the Rebbe’s uncle.
At his wedding which took place in Chernigov in 5669, his brother Reb Levi Yitzchak participated. In 5671 , he was appointed Rov in the town Shiraka on the Inhul River, after the outbreak of the Bolshevik revolution he returned to Chernigov
In the year 5685 (1925), he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel and settled in Eretz Yisroel. A year later he passed away on 7 Shevat 5686 (1926).
He left behind an only daughter, Mrs. Zelda Mishkovsky (Schneerson) – known by her name as Zelda the Poet. When Har Hazeisim returned to Jewish rule, his grave was located, and the Rebbe asked Mrs. Zelda to see to the re-establishment of the tombstone and even asked to participate in the expenses.
Today, in honor of his Yahrzeit, a group from Yeshivas Toras Emes visited his kever on Har Hazeisim to say Mishnayos and Kaddish. The visit was organized by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Tzikvashvili.
