The visit included top ministry staff, regional leaders, and representatives of the Ohr Chabad settlement group. The government recently approved a 30 million NIS budget to establish a temporary housing site and begin infrastructure work for the permanent community, which will eventually include 500 families.
Initial construction will begin in the coming weeks, with 30 families from the Chabad settlement nucleus expected to move into temporary housing by early 2026. The first phase includes 150 residential lots.
“This is the realization of a dream,” said representatives from Or Chabad, thanking officials for their support in overcoming bureaucratic delays and advancing the project.
