On Wednesday morning, wildfires broke out and burned several locations in the coastal plain and the Beis Shemesh area, near Yerushalayim.

The blaze in the Beis Shemesh area is burning at three main points in the Tzoraa and Eshta’ol forests, and due to wind, is spreading toward the villages of Tarom, Taoz, Misilat Tzion, and Khan Sha’ar Haguy.

Over 100 firefighting crews, together with eight firefighting planes, a firefighting helicopter, the Lehava Unit, JNF-KKL crews, and additional bodies have been deployed. As a result of the fire, a Border Police officer was evacuated in moderate condition due to smoke inhalation.

Fire Commissioner Eyal Caspi has issued a general enlistment order for all firefighters. In addition, police have ordered the evacuation of Eshta’ol, Misilat Tzion, Beit Meir, and Khan Sha’ar Haguy.

At the same time, a large fire broke out near Moshav Petahia in central Israel, leading to the abandonment of vehicles on Highway 6 as drivers fled for their lives.

Another fire broke out near the moshav of Nir Banim. Firefighting teams were dispatched and are working to prevent the fire from spreading. At present, the fire is not under control, and there is concern that it may spread to agricultural areas.
