In a war unlike any in recent memory, Israel finds itself in a paradox: fighting a terror organization that brutally attacked its citizens, while simultaneously allowing shipments of humanitarian aid to the very territory controlled by that same group.

On Tuesday, the IDF facilitated the entry of 93 aid trucks into Gaza, reportedly containing flour, baby food, medical equipment, and other supplies. This aid, backed by the United States, is being distributed by international NGOs, including the UN and World Central Kitchen. More shipments are expected in the coming days.

The stated purpose is humanitarian — to alleviate civilian suffering. But many are asking a simple question: Why are we feeding and supplying those who support our destruction?

Hamas has a long and well-documented history of diverting aid for terror purposes — from stealing fuel to repurpose for rockets, to commandeering food shipments and selling them to the highest bidder. Even when aid reaches “civilians,” it often does so under the shadow of a regime that rules Gaza with brutality and has widespread popular support.

This isn’t just speculation. Polls over the years have consistently shown alarming levels of support among Gazans for armed “resistance” — code for attacks on Israeli civilians. The lines between combatant and civilian are often blurred in Gaza, and aid distributed today may easily end up sustaining those who cheer rocket fire on Israeli cities tomorrow.

Imagine any other nation at war sending food, fuel, and medicine into the territory of its sworn enemy — in the middle of an active conflict. It would be unthinkable.

Israel’s leaders justify these actions under international pressure, particularly from the U.S., which seeks to maintain a balance between supporting Israel and appeasing global humanitarian concerns. But at what cost?

The Jewish people are still mourning. Hostages are still in captivity. The wounds of October 7 are still raw. Yet we are expected to open our gates and deliver aid to the very ground from which those atrocities were launched?

It’s time for moral clarity. A nation under attack does not owe its enemy food and fuel. Compassion must not come at the expense of common sense — or national survival.
