As the month of Tishrei 5786 approaches, the devoted staff of Eshel – Hachnasas Orchim are working around the clock to prepare for the arrival of thousands of Guests.
Eshel’s leadership, devoted to supplying both the physical and spiritual needs of The Rebbe’s Guests, shared with ChabadInfo that this year’s influx of guests is expected to break records, fueled by the extraordinary growth of Chabad yeshivos in Eretz Yisroel and worldwide.
True to the Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach’s instruction that the mitzvah of hosting ultimately rests upon the residents of The Rebbe’s Shchunah, Eshel partners closely with the local community, while taking upon itself the practical work of ensuring no guest is lacking. The vast operations are sustained through the generosity of anshei chesed and devoted Anash worldwide, who stand at the side of Eshel each year during the annual fundraising campaign to cover the immense costs of welcoming the multitudes.
A team of Bochurim is already hard at work across the many departments of the organization, with one focus and one mission: to bring Nachas to The Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach by ensuring that every guest is provided for, both materially and spiritually.
The spiritual department, in partnership with the Central Union of Yeshiva Students, is setting up a massive study framework: full Seder Ha’limud, Mashgichim and Mashpi’im in place, and dedicated Shiurim arranged for different Yeshivos. Evenings will be utilized for lively Farbrengens with distinguished Mashpi’im from both near and far.
The publications department is working hand in hand, producing thousands of booklets, study guides, and special compilations that will accompany the guests in their daily learning, Shiurim, and major gatherings.
The events division is preparing an array of central gatherings, lectures, and panels with leading Chabad Rabbonim and Mashpi’im, who will illuminate and inspire the guests with the vision and spirit of dor hashvi’i.
On the Gashmiyus side, the lodging department is working tirelessly to provide thousands of beds, mattresses, pillows, and blankets in the dorm apartments overseen by the yeshivos.
Important note: Due to the great challenges in securing sufficient apartments in recent years, Eshel cannot guarantee accommodations for all. To assist, they are working with the Crown Guest hospitality office to help arrange housing where possible. Eshel supplies beds and linens for these apartments.
The dining department has in recent years become one of the shining highlights of the organization, raising the standard of meals by leaps and bounds. Three large dining halls will serve guests: a massive hall for the Bochurim just minutes from 770, a spacious hall for the women, and a third hall for Families. Behind the scenes, a large team of dedicated volunteers ensures that every guest can sit and learn in peace, without concern for material needs.
The medical department is prepared to provide treatment in any case of illness or injury, working in close coordination with neighborhood doctors and local hospitals. The department is stressing the importance of arranging medical insurance before traveling. Guests are reminded that it is absolutely essential to secure a medical insurance policy before embarking on the journey, even for just a few days. With Tishrei falling deep into the American autumn, visitors are also urged to bring along warm winter clothing.
And not to be forgotten — the news and media team will be on hand to capture and share every special moment, so that Chassidim on Shlichus around the world can remain connected and experience the unique atmosphere of Tishrei with The Rebbe, through the constant updates and reports right here on ChabadInfo.com
All departments are operating with the utmost precision and dedication, under the leadership of Rabbi Menachem Mendel HaKohen Hendel, who has merited to shoulder this sacred privilege — to care for The Rebbe’s guests.
May we merit, together with the entire Jewish nation, to greet The Rebbe Melech HaMoshiach with his full Hisgalus now!
