Walmart Combines Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus in Annual Membership Deal
Walmart has launched a new $120-a-year membership combining its Walmart+ and Sam’s Club Plus programs, offering shoppers access to both services for nearly $100 less than purchasing the memberships separately • Read More
Announced on October 20, the new offer brings together Walmart’s delivery and shopping benefits with Sam’s Club’s warehouse shopping perks, as retailers look to attract budget-conscious consumers.
The combined membership includes access to Sam’s Club and its member-only prices, free delivery on eligible orders from both retailers. Members can also save 10 cents per gallon at more than 17,000 participating gas stations and earn 2% Sam’s Cash on eligible Sam’s Club purchases, subject to program limits and restrictions.
Walmart says the bundle costs $120 annually, compared with $218 for the two memberships purchased separately, saving customers $98 a year. The offer is available as an annual plan, with no free trial.
Existing members can also take advantage of the deal. Walmart+ annual members can upgrade to the combined plan for an additional $22 per year, while standard Sam’s Club members can upgrade to Sam’s Club Plus for an additional $60 annually and receive Walmart+ as part of the offer. Existing Sam’s Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no extra cost. Customers already paying for both memberships can link their accounts, with most eligible for a prorated Walmart+ refund.
“We’re giving people a reason to expect more from their memberships,” Walmart President and CEO John Furner said in the announcement. He said the $120 offer is designed to give members more value while saving both money and time.
The new package is aimed at shoppers who regularly use both retailers. For those who mainly shop at one store or rarely use delivery and other included services, the actual savings will depend on how much they use the membership benefits.
