The honorable David Baruch Lau, Chief Rabbi of Israel, made a historic visit to the Jewish Community of Guayaquil on the occasion of the Ordaining of Rabbi Menachem Fried as a Dayan (Rabbinical Judge), leader of this community.
This important event was also attended by visitors from other countries including Rabbi Yoram Ulman from Australia, Rabbi Kasriel Shemtov from Israel, Rabbi Menachem Gansburg, Rabbi Eliezer Lazaroff, Rabbi Peretz Lazaroff, Rabbi Stuart Fried and Rabbi Jeffrey Cohen from United States of America, Rabbi Aaron Laine from Panama, Rabbi Joseph Feigelstock from Argentina and Rabbi Mendel Carlebach from Peru, as well as Zeev Harel, Israeli Ambassador to Ecuador.
All of them shared different activities with members of the Jewish Community of Guayaquil and visited the Jerusalem Park where a replica of the Menorah of the Knesset is located.
