According to court documents, he had been recently discharged from a military officer training program due to psychological concerns and was later diagnosed with schizophrenia. He is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation and remains in custody without bail.
The man has been indicted on two felony counts of making terroristic threats. The Manhattan District Attorney condemned the case as “despicable,” affirming his office’s commitment to protecting Jewish communities from hate-fueled violence.
