On Motzaei Shabbos, a Siyum HaRambam and farbrengen marking Chof-Beis Shevat was held at Bris Avrohom in Hillside, New Jersey, under the leadership of shliach Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky and organized by his son, shliach Rabbi Avraham Kanelsky. Both addressed the event, speaking about the importance of daily Rambam study and the unique greatness of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka.
Approximately 100 participants attended the event, enjoying a seudas mitzvah along with rich Torah and Chassidic inspiration.
The guest of honor, continuing a long-standing tradition, was the Kossoner Rebbe, who resides in nearby Linden. The Rebbe conducted the Rambam Siyum and explained how the Rambam prepares the world for the coming of Moshiach, emphasizing the obligation for every individual to join the daily Rambam study cycle — in accordance with the Rebbe’s takanah. He shared that he had previously spoken at Rambam Siyumim in the presence of the Rebbe and merited to receive a special dollar from the Rebbe for this.
Another honored guest was Rabbi Chaim Baruch Halberstam, son-in-law of the Bobov-45 Rebbe and Rav of nearby Union. He led the haschla of the new Rambam study cycle and spoke about how every mitzvah connects a person to Hashem.
The distinguished guests, who attended the community’s Rambam Siyum for the second time and maintain a close relationship with Rabbi Mordechai Kanelsky, were presented with a newly released special-edition Tanya and expressed their gratitude to Rabbi Kanelsky for the meaningful gift.
