In a show of support for the Jewish community, King Charles III of the UK visited the scene of the deadly terror attack at the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester, which occurred on Yom Kippur.
During the visit, the King met the Rebbe’s Shliach, Rabbi Daniel Walker, who prevented the terrorist from entering the Shul, and members of the community, including some of those who were present during the October 2nd attack.
After the attack, Rabbi Walker told British media of the moment the terrorist tried to barge into his Manchester synagogue during a deadly attack, “I saw evil, I saw hate,” as he and others held the doors of the shul as the terrorist was “body-charging the doors, throwing heavy plant pots, doing whatever he could to get in. I saw genuine heroism, I have to say, and people who ran to help others rather than running away. It was astonishing.”
Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66 were murdered in the attack, while three other victims were hospitalized.
After the visit, King Charles visited the Greater Manchester Police Headquarters, The King met representatives from the Greater Manchester Police Force, Ambulance Service, and Fire and Rescue Service to acknowledge their efforts in supporting the local community.
