According to a classified cable obtained by news outlets, Secretary of State Marco Rubio has directed U.S. embassies and consulates to pause the processing of student visa applications. The move comes as the administration prepares to implement a new social media vetting process as part of a broader national security policy.
This change may affect international students planning to study in the U.S. in the coming months, including Israeli Bochurim scheduled to participate in the Kvutza program. (This is aside from the thorny issue of dealing with the Israeli draft).
