In a statement issued on behalf of the National Security Council, NSC spokesperson Sean Savett conveyed the U.S. government’s firm stance on the tragic event. “We condemn in the strongest terms the murder of Rabbi Zvi Kogan in the UAE,” Savett said, adding, “Our prayers are with his family, the Chabad-Lubavitch community, the broader Jewish community, and all who are mourning his loss.”
Describing the attack as a direct assault on values of peace and tolerance, Savett emphasized that the murder was not only an attack on Rabbi Kogan, but on the principles of coexistence. “This was a horrific crime against all those who stand for peace, tolerance, and coexistence,” he stated. “It was an assault as well on the UAE and its rejection of violent extremism across the board.”
The United States has been in close coordination with Israeli and UAE authorities to ensure a swift and thorough investigation. “The United States is working in close coordination with Israeli and UAE authorities, and we have offered all appropriate forms of support,” the statement noted.
UAE authorities have responded quickly to the crime, with reports confirming that they have detained suspects connected to the murder. “We commend the rapid efforts of UAE authorities who now have suspects in custody,” Savett added.
The U.S. government has made it clear that those responsible for the attack, as well as any individuals or organizations that may have supported or facilitated the crime, must be held fully accountable. “Those who carried out this crime, and anyone supporting them, must be held fully accountable,” the statement concluded.
