Texas Chabad House Completes New Torah

Chabad of Plano, Texas, under the auspices of Rabbi Mendel and Mrs. Rivka Block, completed and dedicated a new Torah scroll for their bustling center. The Sefer Torah was dedicated by longtime community member Mrs. Debbie Schechter, in memory of her late husband Jerry.
The Torah was completed by various community members themselves inscribing letters with the help of Crown Heights sofer, Rabbi Yitzchok Raskin, director of Machon Stam. After the scroll was completed, the community gathered together to dance the Torah into the shul. The Sefer Torah was accompanied by a chuppah, as is customary.
The community was finally able to celebrate and rejoice together, something society no longer takes for granted, all for a most joyous occasion!
